Saturday Lot #69

Exact replica of the Caesar’s Palace jump helmet. It has been re-created and painted. The helmet has been scuffed up with lasers to match the original helmet that was wore by Evel when he crashed after jumping over the fountains at Ceasar’s Palace.

This blue helmet is considered the Holy Grail. The reason for that is that George Sedlak, Evel’s personal artist that painted his bikes and helmets, painted this helmet for Evel Knievel to wear with his blue jumpsuits during his jumps. When George presented it to him, Evil said thank you, George, but I’m not going to wear my blue jumpsuits anymore, but I appreciate it. Nobody knows where the original helmet is, and this is an exact replica of that helmet painted to spec by the very artist that painted Evel’s original helmet. Official COA will accompany this helmet from George Sedlak, Evel Knievel’s personal artist.

Provenance: Major Evel Knievel Collector in Dallas.

This helmet was painted by George Sedlak, Evel Knievel’s personal artist, who painted his bikes and helmets. It is an exact rendition of the exact helmet that Evel wore during his Wembley jump. The original helmet from the jump was given to Frank Gifford, Evel’s friend, and who broadcasted the event. This helmet comes from the same major Evel collector the Dallas area.

Official COA will accompany this helmet from George Sedlak, Evel Knievel’s personal artist.

Lot 66 Evel Knievel Replica motorcycle, painted by Evel’s artist.

If there was one individual that inspired kids in 1970’s, it would be Evel Knievel. On May 27, 1985 Evel Knievel made his last practice run up the ramp before attempting to jump 13 buses in the U.K. at Wembley Stadium. As Evel soared over the red buses, his hard landing caused him to fly over the handle bars resulting in a massive wipeout. The bike was damaged and he lay on the ground for some time in pain, but later he raised and walked up the landing ramp essentially telling the UK crowd that they had seen his the last jump of Evel Knievel. Evel’s Wembley bike was a Harley XR750 and the helmet used for the jump was painted by his artist George Sedlak.
