True Grit with John Wayne, Glen Campbell, Kim Darby, Dennis Hopper, Strother Martin and others was released in 1969. True Grit is known as one of the most iconic westerns of all time. This belt buckle is offered from the estate of Delma Eugene Baker, who was a Hollywood stuntman and special effects expert. He worked on many movies and was the go to special effects person on the show Taxi. He worked on True Grit and The Electric Horseman with Robert Redford. This buckle was hand made by MG&L, Inc. out of La Jara, Colorado, just Southeast of where much of True Grit was filmed in Ridgway, Colorado. The buckle is carved 51 of 65 made. It was found in Baker’s safe and after researching the history, one of the buckles were given to each cast and crew member after completion of the film. This buckle is the only one known [...]
