Saturday Lot #143i

This photo was taken by Clarence S. Bull of Rosalind Russell at her home. Bull was born in1896 and was hired by MGM president Samuel Goldwyn in 1920 to photograph publicity stills, He became head of the department and became famous for his shots of Greta Garbo from 1926 to 1941.Rosalind Russell was well known for her roles in Auntie Mame 1958, The Women 1939 and Gypsy 1962. She appeared in over 50 movies throughout her career.

This vintage Joan Crawford picture is 8×10 and is stamped MGM-5573. On the back it is titled “LEGS” with Culvers Pictures stamps This photo was a prom picture in support of MGM’s frontier drama “Winners of the Wilderness” which is also stamped on the back.

This very old and rare Bette Davis 8×10 photo and 8×10 negative reads “Best wished always for Max Factor and wonderful organization.” “Bette Davis 1934” Both are stamped with 340 and Elmer Bayer Hollywood, thought to be the photographer.

Saturday Lot #143b

This post card was mailed to the estate of a TI engineer’s wife in Dallas. It was mailed from Burbank in 1959 to Dallas on a Disney The Shaggy Dog post card and signed by Guy Williams who played Zorro from 1957 to 1961. Williams also played on the original Lost in Space, other subsequent Zorro’s and Bonanza.
