JFK White House Press Releases from November 22, 1963
July 19 & 20, 2024 Choctaw Casino & Resorts, Durant, OKSaturday Lot #98
These 2 White House press releases are a rare piece of American Presidential history. Everyone knows the story. JFK was traveling through downtown Dallas on November 22, 1963 and on that infamous day he turned the corner on Elm and shortly thereafter shots were fired from the Texas School Book Depository. JFK was dead shortly after 12:00 p.m. CST. After the downtown tour in the modified 1961 Lincoln Continental, JFK was headed to the Dallas Mart to give a speech to The Dallas Council. That speech is now known as “The Speech JFK Never Made”.
Offered here are two original and authentic White House Press Releases dated November 22, 1963, the same day Kennedy was shot. The time of the release indicates 12:00 p.m. CST, which was within 30 minutes before JFK’s death. These two identical releases are the exact verbiage of “The speech JFK never made”. This is the very speech’s press release that Kennedy was on his way to give when he was assassinated. One of the documents has more wear than the other. Each document is 5 pages. It is unknown as to where these two releases were sent to from the White House, but it is believed that Governor Mark White of Texas (1983 to 1987) gave these to the individual whose estate we received them from.
John F. Kennedy’s historical documents, especially press releases are very rare and do not present themselves on the market very often. Press Releases during his presidency can bring several thousand dollars, but research shows that these two releases of JFK’s speech that he never made are the only two that are known to exist and it is also unknown as to whether they were actually ever released to the media or the public due to the closeness of JFK’s death, which was within 30 minutes of his assassination. At this point they may be the only ones that are in existence.
This lot also comes with JFK newspapers, JFK newspaper clippings, The limited collectors edition JFK Assassination File book where retired Dallas police officer reveals his personal knowledge of the evidence and a JFK Memorial Album magazine.
This is your chance to own a true piece of American Presidential History from one of the most revered Presidents in the 21st Century.
